You know the ones: £20-odd quid for a machine from Sainsbury's and the like.
I'm considering getting one to run through a portable TV in a bedroom, so large numbers of features and ultimate quality aren't an issue. So, is £20 well spent on such a device? Anything to watch out for? etc.

TIA

For £20 you will get a DVD playey that will be just right for the bedroom. After all, that less than a round of drinks in London Village

my parents have a technica (i think) which was pence from tescos, its been going now for just over a year, and they've had no problems with it.
its used in conjunction with a free view box, a video player, and a european sattelite dish receiver, and seems compatible with all of them.

Lovely. I guess at that price, if it breaks after 6 months you just buy a new one?
