Does anyone use Rain-X or equivalent on their glass shower door? I live in darkest Wiltshire and have barely-diluted chalk coming out of the taps so any glass shower door becomes scaled up very quickly. Having just fitted a new shower, I'm going to try Rain X but just wondered if anyone had experience of this and knew how long it might last with hot water on it instead of 70mph rain?

You could always top up your hot water tank with Rain-X screenwash to give it a bit more life?

I find it's only really effective from 40mph upwards. Does your screen door get up to those sorts of speeds?

You can get post-shower sprays that clean the glass. Just spray it on and leave it.

We live in a hard water area so I make sure that I sponge the glass down with a bit of fairy then rinse it and then use one of those rubber window water remover thingys (like the window cleaner has. it of a pain but it keeps it clean!!

The spray-and-forget things are pretty good in my experience.

Wouldn't it be better to get a water softener?

Oh dear, now daydreaming about employing a small army of desperately attractive women to wear small chamois pants and buff customers' cars to a shine. Combining my four great passions of cars, cleaning, girls and err... sheep skin*cough*. Suddenly my fortune is in reach
