The rear wheel fell off. If you pause the video 2 or 3 seconds into the accident you will see the wheel flying across the track.

Yes, that plus the big 'BANG' noise when he starts to turn in.

Yeah, that roll cage seems to have done the trick (windscreen still intact!!)

Indeed, a fortnight later this car and driver won the next VLN race.
