I live between Swindon and Reading so am aware of Swindon Dick Lovetts however I know that Independents will be better value etc (based on the comments on this board).

Who do you suggest I invetigate and do you have any recommendations of independents near(ish)?

Hi - also had good experience of specialised paintwork - near J12 M4. Family business who know their stuff. Nice folks who really go out of their way for you.

Try Lakeside Engineering. Just off the M25 where it meets the M3 (Woking). Lowest prices I can find, had the last 3 services with them including a fair bit of engine tuning. It is a bit of a shed, but they really know what they are doing. and you can stay and chat to them whilst they work on it. Its in the middle of nowwhere, so you dont have much choice as there is no spare cars.. search for it on google.

I'm in Hedge End but work at Cams Estate - hope you're not in the bit a Wallington that needs bailing out!

I use Miles for all work on my car, in fact I'll be making a substantial donation to his and Ians Christams party in the next few weeks

Both me and my missus have Elises and were looking to find someone local that new his stuff that we could use and stick to.

I would think he'll be able to diagnose the problem, like I say, give him a call - the advice is always free!

Labour rate is only £35p/h and for that you get a Lotus stamp in the book too!

Get in independent to check it over if its private sale and you'll be fine. You should get an absolute bargain, prices are crazy low at the moment and people are struggling to sell
