New Owner and Oil Pressure
Discussion
Hi all,
I just taken delivery of a M400. The owner's manual states oil pressure must not fall below 40psi on idle, but I'm getting 15psi on idle. The highest figure I get when driving is 50psi.
What kind of readings do you guys get? It's a holiday at where I am. So I won't be able to reach the dealer. I'm dying to get her out on the road. Please help

Thanks to all who has responded. Your replies really put my mind at ease. I notice the oil pressure is much higher during cold start. I saw 50psi on idle when I fire her up this morning. But it dropped to 15psi after reaching operating temperature.
Yes I 'm located in Singapore. I just received my M400 yesterday and it's the first in the country. She could even be the first in this region. As for servicing, I will go back to my local dealer.
She is my weekend ride and I will track her after she's properly ran it.
The manual is wrong.
I thought the same when I got mine, posted here and as usual, joust came to the rescue.
Your motor is normal :-)
Thanks. Glad to hear that. I wouldn't want to send the car to workshop only after two days.
Btw, is engine stalling normal when the car is cold especially with the a/c on? I find it quite irritating.

Nope - it shouldn't do that. Sounds like the idle circuit isn't working correctly. With everything on, air con, full steering lock, the car should still idle fine without stopping.
There is a way to adjust the idle speed upwards (the odd 50rpm can be all the difference), but I only know how on the 2.5l
