Waxoyl?

What are people's opinions on getting the Tamora chassis waxoyled for the winter?

I will be using it on a daily basis and it's stored outside (have I just answered my own question???).

Can anybody recommend a good garage to get this done? And how long does it take?

My Tuscan has been Waxoyled from new by TMS, around £100 a time if I remember correctly. Will be having the new Sagaris treated by them too.

As Waxoyl stopped my MGBGTV8 rotting years ago, I'm a convert.

My '99 chim has been waxoyled from new and the chassis is in perfect condition.

IMO its worth the money.

This might sound cold and harsh, but why bother unless you're keeping the car for a long time?

If you plan to change in a few years from new then I wouldn't bother. Longer than 5 years then I would. A new owner/dealer won't see any deterioration in the first few years.

No but they may notice the waxoyl and think Oooh this has been done from new - this must be a careful owner etc.....

They might also think the chassis looks all gunky and mucky due to the dirt sticking to the Waxoyl

ahh but during the test drive they'd be able to smell it burning off next to the exhaust
