hi all

am picking up 111r at weekend can`t wait just been looking at some of the postings and have a few questions you might be able to answer!

i guess it will be like my tvr and i will have to go easy with it for the 1st thousand miles and then it will need a service? or a once over?

does anyone know a good dealer in berkshire?

i have read the right up on here about the 0-100 time which they claim is 13 secs that seems a bit slow they must mean o-100-0 as my tiv did 12 secs

what this a bout a sports ex. upgrade?

any more info will be welcome

thanks

Hi - if you were hoping the 111r was going to match a tuscan s to 100mph, you are bound to be disappointed. The elise is a very quick car, but mainly quick in the 0-80mph range. Being a small engine, it will not be as devastating at higher speeds where wind resistance etc becomes a factor. The car relies on lightness etc. You will really reel the difference in the corners where it is in a different class. 13 seconds to 100mph sounds about right for an R. How often will you use the car over 100mph anyway?

As for servicing - Lotus service at 1000 mls. I heard of someone who booked it in the day after he collected the car - drove to lands end and back.

Servicing:

Lotus dealers - you have:

Bell and Colvill - do a google search. (near Guildford)

Brooke Kensington near oxford

Specialists:

Steve Williams Maidenhead:

you could try Steve at Thames Valley Racing (0118 970 6767):

Good luck and great choice of car. I am sure others will have additional service options.
