Picked up my new 05 VXR two weeks ago and I haven't stopped grinning since....All that I heared and read is all true....you want muscle, go down under, not across the pond...
I thought my C5 Corvette was fast....well, that's been consigned to the shopping run now....
Anyway....as always, new cars always have a few teething problems, which mine has, and wanted to verify before returning to dealer...
The problem is "rumbling" (and the odd cluck) on the drive-train on pickup...is this just "running in" type stuff or does something need checking.

Welcome Chappie.
Dont worry about the odd clunk. Espesh when cold. It'll wear in. Dont forget to shift slowly while its cold. It'll be fine.
Gotta remember that there are no "german scientist's" (to quote Malc)under there to shift off the power to keep the drivetrain smooth. It's all victorian pig iron engineering and it makes some noise sometimes. Dont panic, it wont blow it.
Enjoy it Chappie, your gonna love it...
