TOC H was born 89 years ago, in the strife of World War 1. It started in a house in a Belgian town named Poperinge, a few miles behind the front-line trenches. The house was called Talbot House (whose initials, in army telephone jargon, give TOC H its distinctive name). In this house a young Army chaplain, the Rev. 'Tubby' Clayton, set up a rest centre for soldiers. From the start, it was open to all ranks, which was very unusual. Many who visited gained a deeper understanding of other people, and of their own Faith.
George Davis was someone who his mates campaigned for the release of from the nick back in the eighties or even the seventies. I saw "free George Davis with every four gallons"
On the side of the M40 a fence has "Why do I keep doing this every day?"
A condom machine in NW9 used to say "MENSA boot boys rule, OK?" and another;
"dyslexia lures, KO?"
finally, "I like grils", followed by "that's G-I-R-L-S, idiot", and then
"What about us grils?"
BTW, it's 'graffito' if it's singular.
