Now I'm sure there have been posts along these lines before but I can't be @rsed to find out. Anyway, does anyone else find that their car or previous cars behave differently from day-to-day. Fot instance last night my car was more than happy to be revved and yet on other days it can be quite reluctant, why is this?

Ho-hum

Air temperature?
Fuel quality?
The strength of your right foot?

Or perhaps you're just imagining it...?

Yes, I know what you mean, I've experienced it myself - sometimes I arrive at my destination a lot quicker than I expected and walk away from the car with a slightly windswept appearance thinking "fk me she's quick today!"

I always put it down to air temperature or imagination but there may be other forces at work here...

I once had a car that ran fine as long as you only put a fiver of petrol in it.. every time I filled the tank the car broke down..

through unlreated problems though - I can hardly blame an alternator going, or a water pump going on filling the petrol tank up.. sods law in action though..

But its not just that the car is quicker one day than the next , its like the car just runs smother the gear change is nicer , it must have something to do with air pressure or temperature as you suggest , probably just the mood you are in on the day i spose

They pay the salary... so figure out the loyalty.

Still, I'd rather drive a Ford than some of the alternatives...

Yes I think it could be atmospheric conditions but I can't spot a pattern or relation, however I do find that on wet days the car is quieter which maybe something to do with the lubrication of the rear suspension bushes, er I really must get those polyurethane ones.

I've also found that if on the last use I gave it a good caning then it seems much happier - but that, as has been said, could be purely psychological.

Edited to say that I haven't quite got used to quoting!

It's a sad state of affairs when the nicest thing you can say about a car is 'at least it's not a vauxhall'
