London to Brighton Run 22 pics from Crawley & A23

Martin, I suspect the time of year might have something to do with history, but probably no harm in rewriting it! Unless of course that means reintroducing the man with the flag.
Still, nice to have pun in the rain, walmer or not.
Have to echo the other comments - cracking shots which capture the moments - but I'm with te51cle - glad I was not there really, weatherwise.

The last picture is AW38 - Boanerges "Bo".
I went down to Brighton in this in about 92 - it is the college mascot of City and Guilds College (now part of Imperial College) - hence the outfits in college colours.
Great to see it there, brings back some great memories. (though luckily it didn't rain when I did it).
Interesting stuff:
Made by James and Browne of Hammersmith
2 1/2l twin cylinder engine putting out 9HP]
Works on continuous drip-feed 'total loss' oil system.
Throttle is confusingly a lever on the steering wheel.
AW38 is a number that used to belong to "Armstrong Whittley".
"Bo Driver" is an offical union position.
The other vehicle is "Derrick" (named in a competition in the 1960s!) which is a ner-a-car (motorcycle).
The Royal College OF Science (also part of Imperial) have an old Fire engine called "Jezebel" or "Jez"
