I just went on a stag weekend to Liverpool and tooks load of pics and vids which I want to send to a few friends. We are all on broadband. I have 50mb of web space but obviously that is not enough.

Should I just email the files individually, bearing in mind that some are 10mb video clips? We also thought about using MSN messenger.

Burn them onto CDs and post them?

You could just upgrade your webhosting to an account with more space, or uploading it to some free hosting place somewhere.
Another option is to get a Gmail account (but check on the file size limit per attachement)

Or create smaller, low-res versions to post on your webspace and invite people to ask you to email them the full-size versions of any in particular that they're interested in? I seriously doubt that most folk would really need the full-size files for the purposes of reminiscence (sp?)

P.S. Stag photos on the internet? Surely what goes on tour, stays on tour - cardinal rule!

Thanks for the suggestions. It was a pretty tame weekend from what I remember. Will have to actually look at the pics to make sure first.

I'm going to try zipping up the files to see if that makes a difference.

If you're having them printed then photobox.co.uk will do that for you and give you around 150MB of webspace and you can share the pictures from there, like me:

Kenya Triup 2005

Failing that, there are all kinds of free image upload sites like www.cashmoneyuploads.com though I've never used one personally.

Don't email large files, attachments have to be mime encoded and that makes them 1.5 times the size they are already, hideous waste of bandwidth,

www.rapidshare.de was recommended to me by another PH photographer - seems to work well

Zip them and use www.yousendit.com or something like that?

Just a straight upload/download then

Or if you have FTP software access I s'pose I can host them for you, and give you a link to use for download

Dave.

The hosting is free
