As a biker newbie, I have a numptie question regarding top boxes. Is there any risk in buying what is described as a 'universal fitting' topbox as the kit it comes with does not look as though it should fit the back of the fazer. I wouldn't want to order one of these and then find it will not fit. I have googled for a fazer specific box but there seems very little info on this.

Cheers!

Look on the givi site, they show fitments for fazers.

I wouldn't go for a universal fit personally unless the universal one had been tested on my bike.

Cheers for that Dern.

Nice Westie btw - we have a John Eales tuned 4.6 V8, which we affectionately call Bam Bam because of the noise the overrun makes! And I thought bikes scared me

Good choice for the discerning enthusiast!

No worries. The givi stuff is top notch and worth the money. I've had it for years on the blade and makes the bike perfect for commuting in all weathers. Much much better than arsing about with leaky soft luggage.

Just reading your profile Dern - didn't realise how similar your Westie is to ours - do you read Evo - they used it in the Rover V8 article a few months ago about the dying breed that serviced so much. It was quite funny because it vibrated too much for the camera, so they had to push it to take the 'speed' photo! Check out www.adimitchell.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Adiweb/images/bambam1.JPG if you want a chuckle!

Yours looks cleaner....

Not any more... been using it the rain a lot

I didn't realise you had the engine in your westy as you didn't have it in your profile. Good picture, like those wheels

I've only had the car a few weeks but the power is just amazing. Never had it out on a dry day yet though so am still to make the best use of it. All good fun though.

I'm workshop manager at a bike shop in Wrexham and we've just taken a Fazer 600 (51 plate) in with a Givi Monorack system on it. If you want some photos give me a shout. It's possible the boss will take the system off, I'll check how much if he does. It's the top rack plate, both side plates inc Givi indicators, but no cases as the previous owner transferred these to his new bike.
