Surely a corvette would have been a better starting point?

Judging by the number of Esprits at vmax that have had "issues" before it was always a pretty stupid starting point.

I think the synopsis is that almost any car would have been better than that Lotus!

It gave this Sierra owner a bit of a grin though

Oops I entered, lost a quid. I have had a bad week for car bills having my chassis rail practically rebuilt so I entered to increase the potential irony. Shame the car is silver though ^_^

Wonder how much hassle the fensport guys are gonna give me. I need to ring them tomorrow to see if I can arrange a warranty replacement for the exhaust I bought from them...

Corolla blew it box, I pretty much expected that since it's a 4wd system from a garden variety 'rolla that is in no way up to the task of channelling a sustained 800 or whatever it is BHP to the ground.

The Lotus looked the business but is something of a lemon, and why rebuild it to standard spec? If it broke the first time you either fix the original problem and/or fit something stronger.

The cossie was a weapon though, love that comment at the end about the bloke driving it one handed (and in the wet!) probably had a T5 box though, a proper gearbox not like those flimsy cardboard ones in the other cars.

Cossie - faster to be sure but which would you rather be seen in?

I've been in an Espirit and I won't do it again. Loved the handling - hated the spinal compression/claustrophobia.

Around town a Sierra is naff - but burn off something hot...how cool is that?

Nope, it lunched it's gearbox beforehand. Not even on the way to the airfield, it had broken down at least a week before then if my memory serves me correctly.

Why did they not just start with a Supra? Surely it would have been piss easy for a lot less money?
