I want to be able to adjust the passenger seating position in my elise. On the odd occasion when i am sat in the left hand seat the wind gives me a right battering as i am sat too far back. Is it possible to fit an adjustable seat runner to slide the seat forward, if so where can i get one from.

You could get a LHD driver's side one, but beware that the seat will foul the centre console if you push it too far forward as the driver and passenger sides aren't equally sized. The driver gets more room you see.

The passenger seat is fixed in an Elise and is non adjustable. If you look closely, you'll see that the driver sits much nearer the middle, with the passenger slightly further back and to one side.

MJK, surely the LHD drivers seat runners (adjustable) would replace the RHD passenger seat runner. You'd just not be able to adjust it fully forward or you'll hit the centre console as MJK said it isn't a symetrical cabin.

If you found the part number i'm sure your local lotus dealer could get one. If not you could perhaps try sourcing one from a LHD country's dealer.

On the left hand drive cars, our drivers seat then becomes the one bolted further back and out to one side.

I think with the runners, there's very little movement to be had. Looking at mine, it would hit the side of the tub after about 2 inches.

The right had side is offset to give the driver more room. I dont think you can simply put runners in as the passenger footwell gets narrower and stops the seat moving.
(this is true of the s2, not sure about the s1)

That trick is so you can make the seat go further forward for short arses. The constraint is the central divider is in the way of any movement of the passenger seat.

You could take the central divider out but then you may find it difficult to change gear. Although the problem of wind in your face is removed.

I don't know if I have an odd car or what, but in my S1 Exige there's two sets of holes in each side, perfectly symmetrical and equally distant.

It even says in the manual, choose one set of holes if LHD, the other set if RHD.

So, I don't see any reason why you couldn't fit the driver runners in the LH seat.
Why don't you try it and let us know.
