Rotten outriggers on a 400se. Surgery Advise!!

The drivers side outriggers and plates are no longer on my newly purchased 400Se.
I have undone all the bolts i can see that are holding the body down, including the sneaky 10mm ones in the engine bay. I need to undo the steering column splines and fuel tank filler i am assuming, so i can lift the body 4-6 inches to completely renew the box section. Can anyone over any other tips??

are you sure you need to lift the body, i am about to start cleaning and painting the chassie on my 400 and after reading the recent posts i am starting to get worried, will get the car off the ground this week to see what is what, but it has been said repairs can be done with body on hope i will not need any
There is no doubt that you have to lift the body or cut thr sills off!
I am only a wedge owner for around two weeks and i knew it needed work, but this has caught me out!
I intent to completely renew the box section and install new plates, i am lucky enough to have full workshop facilities and a few days holiday left, if i had not, then god knows!

Feel for you mate, in the middle of a major chassis job on my chim myself.

Today was a minor success, you can choc the body high enough to cut thr outrigger off!
Using the rear, inner and front body mounts and a couple off strong hands its possible to prop it up.
I also have sent the dash to be refurbed by an ex Roller craftsman in Cumbria, i am going to have a lighter shade of veneer to lighten the cab up a bit!
I'm also sniffing around for a 4.6 while i'm at it.
