How did you meet your partner?
Discussion
Ok PHers. How did you met your wife/husband/gf/bf/partner? And how did you or they propose? Did you know they were the one straight away?
I met my hubby at school we were 13 at the time, he told me we were going to be married, strange how a week later he dumped me for a policemans daughter.
We lost touch after school, and thanks to a friend (not sure weather to kill her or not) 3 years later we got back in touch, and 2 years later we were married.
He actually did get down on one knee to propose.

I met my missus when we were both teenagers - 16 and 19. We met at a Church Youth Club.
After 6 weeks of going out we knew we were meant for each other and naturally talked about "when" we'd marry, not if. I'm now 41 and she's 38. so we've been together for well over half our lives. We have our moments, but basically we're like one person not two.

OK prepare for a really "sad" story. At the start of my second year at University, my mate and I went to the Freshers' Disco with an eye to picking up a couple of naive young girls for obvious purposes. We saw a couple of women sat the othet side of the hall and went to ask them to dance. Unknown to us they had eyed us up (and were also 2nd years there for exactly the same reason) and selected the other way round from us! But, when we stood up, my (now) wife realised that my mate (who looked like a young Peter Green) was only five foot two - she is five eleven. Result 35 years of marriage...
Met my wife at College. Well actually, on an orchestra tour, friend of a friend thing. Got together at College. We just got on really well, I think I always thought we would stay together, we just worked so well together!
8 years later we are married. When I proposed I took her to a place that was really special to her and got down on one knee - seemed to do the trick

Met this one when she knocked at my door cold calling. I saw her in the cctv and went to investigate. When I saw her face to face I knew she was the one so I said..
"I don't care what you're selling, just come in and I will sign it"
much to her bewilderment
then I pinned her against the wall and snogged her
The rest is history
Operation bull-in-china-shop was a success

My wife and I were at uni together, we were at the same college. I'd had my eye on her since the first week there and had tried various cunning ruses such as 'I've ripped my trousers, can you sew them back up and come round my room to drop them off?'
(not the most successful chat-up line ever) and when we were sat next to each other in the JCR watching Big Break, I accused her of spitting at me (that's not a good one either).
I was going out with another girl I didn't really like so in the end I just went up to my future wife and snogged her down the bar (what an arse). The other girl didn't like it, slapped her and then slapped me.
That was 8 1/2 years ago and we've been married over 2 years.
I proposed on a quiet sunny summers day on Kimmeridge Beach (our favourite place) in Dorset with champagne and cake. Whilst the army were firing. Also getting her blindfolded in the car and driving down from London (whilst blindfolded) wasn't the best idea either.........

She was selling Onetel phone packages.. I have tepehone lines from Telewest and Bulldog, and neither are Onetel compatible, but I still let her sign me up safe in that knowlegde
Love is blind but the bank manager aint

Met my wife at school - she was the school secretary and we were both in a play; she was an Irish hooker and me playing a queer! Anyway after that used to go and get my stationary from her office and the rest they say is history. That was 25 years ago and we have been married for 19, usual ups and downs for a marriage, but still together and looking forward to the next 20+ yrs!!!

Met my wife at a party at the student flat I was living in. Both of us were totally wrecked. She knew one of the girls who lived in the flat upstairs, so I got her number and gave her a call. She came over to the flat a couple of days later with a mate. I was sat there on the sofa next to another guy and the two of them were stood there in front of us, and I hadn't got a bloody clue which one she was.
It transpired, about 5 years later, that she hadn't got a clue which one I was either
This was 10 years ago. Proposed in Prague on a park bench looking down over the city from the monastery on the hill. Got married in June this year.

First day of uni for my fiancee, Freshers Fair, me manning the Rifle Club stand trying to relieve as many people as possible of their subs - she wondered over and I signed her up on the spot. We got on very well through the year, but parted as I graduated. Five years down the line we got back in touch and within a month she'd taken a job in my area, three months after that I'd proposed, and we're about to get our first place together next week.
