964 carrera 4 rs

Was reading a recent copy of 911 and PW and they mentioned the 964 c4 rs ( the one that hits 60 in under 4 secs) I think it was originally build in low numbers for rallying but don't know much more than that.

Does anyone know anything more about it ?

Very rare, very expensive. It was lighter than standard (about 1100kgs?) and white. That's all I remember.

Probably a stupid question but if you lightened a c4 and changed the gear ratios in theory would it do the same or am I missing something

I reckon if you put a C4 on RS suspension/brakes, seam welded the shell, and gave it the same "diet" as an RS (thinner glass, lighter doors, etc) then it'd be comparable right?

No, it's more a case of turning a 964RS into an even more extreme Cup/race car and adding C4 running gear. There was an article in 911&PW a couple of years back, but can't remember the details. Will try and dig some up if I have time later.

These are rarer than ........., they are all museum pieces for some reason no one puts them on the road, surprised its not more.

It was in 911 % PW a couple of years ago, the one about 964s where the headline is 'You can buy a Carrera 4 for under £12,000'. All I remember about the 4 RS is that it was white, was missing the headlight surrounds (which looked a bit odd as they are black) and the interior had no carpet at all.

IIRC H&S in germany had a silver one in stock earlier this year

IIRC it was Brian Burrow's C4 Lightweight that was in 911 & PW, which only had the delivery miles on it.
