i am thinking of getting a stage two upgrade on the exhurst when it goes in for its 1st service is it worth it? dose it add any more bhp? and is there any value in the current exhurst as its brand new?

is there any chipping options? i have just read about someone with a 22o bhp honda? i would hate to be out done!

Ok the first step is to learn to drive the beast. The best upgrade is to driver skill. Most people, myself included, are not good enough to exploit the standard 111R, let alone a modded one.

My 111R upgrade / mod path will be.
Larini exhaust
Induction (huricane probably)
Ohlins suspension (3 way)
Lightend exige wheels
Lightened flywheel
Supercharger.

LOL ..as above - at the moment you can do exhaust/induction..probably get to 200bhp...but dont forget the 111R is a lot heavier too.

If you didnt want to be outdone you shouldnt have bought a 111R ...you should have bought the lightest S1 you could find with an Audi or SC Honda engine in it....770Kg ish and 300-330bhp is about the limit for quick road going Elises these days

It's worth it if you want the car much louder. Sounds awesome.
Does it add more ponies? Single figures if at all.
Any value in current exhaust? Not much I'd guess, though you never know.

Chipping options? Not that I know of for the 111R, but there may well be.

Oops - in the hands of someone capable you will be... comprehensively I'm afraid.

Don't go for a stage 2 if you want to do trackdays - it's too noisy for many. Would also second the comments about driver training - I was fortunate enough to be driven in a 111R by Dave Minter - one of the original development engineers for the S1. Rather than convince me I needed to trade my 111S for an R, it showed me the value of performance driving courses. I'd give Carlimits a call if I were you, well worth the money.

I think there is some value in the standard exhaust.

Quite a few people have had Stage 2's put on part of a deal then realise its a bit too loud for long distances / track days etc and want the standard one put back on.

I'm impressed with the Quicksilver - not too loud when cruising though there's quite alot of boom at low revs / high gear. Went through a tunnel on the M25 the other day - fantastic tool for moving traffic out of the way !

I actually bought the exhaust from a guy on Ebay for £120 - 2nd hand but good condition.

Took it to Strattons for fitting, they charged £58 so not too bad at all. The guys at Strattons mentioned they have lots of Stage 2 exhaust Exige owners putting the standard back on because it's just too loud with the roof on. I think the QS offers a good compromise - somewhere between a stage 1 and stage 2. Also, it is much smaller than the standard exhaust so less weight which is another plus. Not sure about any performance increase to be honest - may need to be coupled with a replacement induction to make a difference.

If I was using the Elise as a weekend / fun only car, I'd almost certainly go for a Stage 2 - louder the better in that respect but with some lengthy M11 / M25 trips, I'm glad I went the QS route.

Isn't that the kit from "the company formerly known as ForcedFed"? If so, I seem to recall reading somewhere that they were trying to broker a deal with ProDrive to do UK sales and installs.

There seem to be relatively few upgrades for the 111r available at the moment, and even fewer that my dealer claims he can get hold of. I already have the stage 1 'zorst, but aside from the Exige wheel and suspension upgrade (which he advised me against ordering) he doesn't seem to be able to get anything else - not even an ITC intake!

Rather than upgrade, I've decided to hold onto my car for a little while longer, then PX for either an Exige Cup with supercharger or perhaps a Europa. However, if an interesting-looking supercharger kit becomes available, (like the Ragnarok 280) I may be tempted to order that and get an Elise with the Super Sports upgrade (for the Exige handling kit), whack on an Exige front clam & extended intakes and add a PB racing rear spoiler to make a convertible Exige. I always loved the Exige performance, but hated the whole mesh-rear-window thing.

Take great care with those turbo kits. The one entered in the NZ Targa didn't even last 1 Stage. I think a low pressure SC may be the answer if one is adequately developed. Until then, simple bolt ons for me, I'll be reporting back soon.
