Police biker dies in m-way crash

A police officer from Merseyside has died in a motorway crash in Lancashire.
The officer was killed when his motorbike collided with a truck on the M58 in Skelmersdale.

The motorway was closed in both directions, between junctions four and five eastbound, and from the M6 link at junction 26 westbound.

Police have not yet identified the Pc, who was on a motorcycle training course. They said an investigation into the incident was under way.

Liebchen - am sorry to read this und it explain why traffic was nightmare from lab location tonight. But .. low winter sun, damp road, icy black ice after the rain und then the sun or perhaps diesel spills on road?

But am sure we will all either think of his family or pray for his family und whatever cause accident - we feel for his family.

Love to you - ist nice to hear from you

It`s never pleasant whatever the deceased`s background, but the atmosphere at a Polac is particularly grim. I dealt with two fatalities, both in `99;

The burnt out vehicle which killed Jeff Tooley in a hit and run while he was doing roadside checks, and the Porsche in which the head of the Sussex Driving School (Bob something) died while giving advice/instruction to the owner/driver.

The second one was bad - everyone on scene knew him.

Both were jobs I`d rather forget.

Just taken a look at the Police Roll of Honour website - lots of BiB seem to die on their way home from work..... I guess its no worse that any other profession, is commuting that dangerous? I guess so, but a very sobering thought.
