Thanks

Don't forget to add in the price of a memory card and possibly batteries too.

This may sound odd but for £99 I'd rather have fewer pixels and more basic image quality. ATBE (all things being equal) you'll get better low light performance and less noise. I have a now-obsolete Olympus Mju300 (3.2 Mp) for my 'shirtpocket' camera and whilst it struggles at A4, it's otherwise fine:

Oh yes, it does not have to be 5 mp, just needs to be good!

OK, have a browse at www.dpreview.com then

I would look for 4Mp (3Mp will do if you're only planning 6x4 prints) and 3x optical zoom as the basics.

Mrs Beano said there was someone advertising on the tellyvelly for a 5 Megasaurus camera and a an HP printer package for ..... can I remember now??? ...oh, about £130-140.

Course it might be complete parc, but if there's a nice little price war before Chrimbo it won't do you any harm!

Got this in a mail shot today:

www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10278260&pid=2&tid=465

My first digicam (in about 98/99) was a Kodak brick that did (I think) 800x600 on the best settings!

I don't like this bit: 'Supported Battery 2 x AA'. Go for Li-Ion if you can find it.
