WIndscreen Wiper Switch.

Could anyone explain how to fit a windscreen wiper rack switch to my Cerbera 4.5. It had only been replaced several months ago, and has gone again. The cost for the part is only around 7.25, but the 2 hour round trip+fuel+labour=DIY. Does this sound a good idea, or is it a case of rattling of a few expletives, then taking it back to the dealer?
Remove the rear part of the bonnet, disconnecting the washer pipes.
Undo the two bolts that holt the bonnet lock, mark where they are or make sure you can tell where it went as its a pian to reset.
Remove the bolts holding the expansion tank in.
Remove the LHS inlet defuser
Remove expansion tank out of the way, you may need to disconnect it and be prepared for water to go everywhere.
Now remove the tank frame, about 3 bolts I think.
You should easly be able to get at the motor now.
Take the cover off, 5 small screws.
Lift up the wiper arms off the screen.
Remove the circlip that holds the rack in.
Remove the rack cable.
Undo the two 10mm bolts that hold the motor in, you may have lose nuts on the back in which case you need to remove the trim from above the passengers knees.
Remove the wiper motor, take a look at the terminal block for condition.
Take the large gear out, small circlip on the back.
Change the park switch, mark the positions of the wires and watch out for the PITA clip that holds it in place. I then covered mine in Silicone sealant to 'attampt' to stop the water getting in. If the loom that comes from the car has had it then you can get a replacement from Mini Spares for £6, www.minispares.com
Then refit, straight forward but make sure you connect the motor and switch the ignition on first so it 'parks' this will give you the position. This will allow you to set the wipers up. Also fill the expansion tank abd run the car through a few hot/cold cycles, and also check the system before every trip for a few weeks after to make sure you remove all the airlocks.
Have fun, but its a god 2hr job.
