Sad really. The product of a flawed system of thinking, many years ago?

Some haunting images...

Strange to think there would have been so much activity on that site at some stage.

The one of the lonely pallet truck was my favoutite pic of that lot.

What are you on about? What on Earth does it have to do with the EU? Blame the unions and crap management. The EU has plenty to answer for, but the decline of the British owned British car industry is entirely our own fault.

Oh, and yes, Rolls Royces really are mass-produced: they are making nearly 1000 cars a year!

Do you know what I think it may be Nonners when it comes down to it?...

The corrupt appointments of management posts, and promotion of "kiss and kin" (a very British disease)...Appointments of people who simply were NOT qualified for leadership but where members of the right (handshake) secret society as put the wrong people in the wrong places.....Hence!...Failure.

Been there, seen it, pissed off with it! .............

Incredible photos. The lads on the site are well happy it seems, over 13,000 people have looked at the photos now.

It's eery seeing the cars just hanging there waiting for someone to come along and turn the line back on like nothing ever happened.

That place had more than its fair share of line-stops,
although all the idle b'astards are not going to meander back in on Monday morning as though nothing happened, and resume makin piss poor cars,
good riddance.

Spent many many hours hanging around in there, delivering components to them,
which may or may not be recieved that week depending on which side of the bed
some idle militant got out.

it has always made me laugh at the British lament, we always look wistfully back and say "mmm Rover, tea and biscuits, jumpers for goalposts, marvellous" Yet we all know what a shiteful sorry arsed bunch of incompetents we have running these companies, egged on and supported by an equally sychophantic, bunch of politicians producing tat dressed up as consumer products. We once used to make good stuff, but that all changed the day we started importing more than we exported. Plus England has NEVER given credit to the people who create excellence. So good riddance I say, the workers would be better off on the dole anyhows, at least their conscience would be cleansed of the crimes against motoring they no longer are party too!

mind you they were advised politically, to disperse themselves amongst the local
supermarkets in search of work.
