Heater Fan: NO Blow

Today fitted air vent bezels from leven.
After sucessfully completing set task found out heater fan was not working.
1st step checked fuse , OK
2nd step make sure conrol knob works and theres no loose conections to or from control unit. removed top of dash (What a pig of a job) all seems ok.

3rd give up and watch footie
Going to try again in the morning any ideas?

My fan stopped working and it turned out to be a burned out connector on the control unit that connects via a ribbon cable to the fan knob. Pull off the ribbon cable and inspect plug for heat damage.

Was the damage obvious? I had mine out and it looked ok, there were no signs of heat damage.

Fan control units (TVR Part No: ME0227) are a common failure part. It is usually a case of purchase a new one and 'Plug and Go'.

Yes, the heat damage was very obvious (dark brown/black) scorch marks on the connector. Before I located this fault, I tested the blower itself. This is located in the passenger wing and you can find the connection plug on a lead coming out from an access panel in the passenger footwell (on the left hand side.) I disconnected this from the loom and applied 12v to check whether the blower actually worked.
