Cheap car for sale?

Anyone got a small car for sale - less than £500 or so. My friend has had his car stolen, and needs a short term replacement ASAP.

It's a little over budget, but I've got to flog my mum's '92 Escort 1.6 (she's owned it since almost new). It's got tax and full test (so it'll be easy to sell on when he's done), and I'll take £750. It's lived its life in Sheffield, too. Any good?

my uncle has a golf GTI H redge i think, not brill condition but can probably have it for £500, ps its fast and handles well.
