But where do you go ?

I'm currently having a few personal problems and require time, space etc on my own. The bike so far has been my savour, no phones, e-mails, etc etc.

Cant decide where to go for a week or so, Any ideas ? ( Wind and rain dont really bother me too much )

the midlands would a nice ride if it wasn't so wet. Riding around the Peaks is really good for relaxing and getting all the day-to-day crap out of your system. I think that you should be able to get a few good deals for B&Bs as its out of season!

When I have moments like that, I usually jump on the bike, catch the chunnel and end up somewhere like Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Luxembourg, Toulouse, Geneva etc anywhere ,it doesn't really matter where as long as it's not here ......

If you wanna stay in the UK then Cornwall , Wales, Lake district, Scotland are good at this time of year (no bleedin' tourists Cold mind.....

Depends how much cash you have, but Spain would be my first choice, Youth Hostel or a very small tent. You still have the weather down there.

Scotland is starting to get very cold after 3.00pm. Roads are generally always wet or covered in salt/grit. Last thing you need is an off becasue your mind is not on the job.

Why not just grab a cheepo holiday to Kos or Turkey. 1 week probably £150 + food & drink.

I saw the SPS in your name and assumed a Ducati. At which point i thought a duke to Greece?

Should be fine on your Honda. A really interesting trip.

What would that be - three days travel?

Robbo SPS,
This time of year, I'd stick the bike on the train (French Autorail)to miss out the cold n wet / boring bit. Once you are south of the Alps, you can go where you please. (incluing down through Italy and across to Greece)

Don't book it in this country though, it's way more expensive, I usually ride to Lille and load there. Overnight on the train and wake up in Nice. Doesn't run everyday this time of year.

I have also found most hotels and pensions have some sort of lock up for the bike, so you can tour around without much pre-planning, once you get to down south.

I've done this several times (I've also done the "Calais to Bandol in one hit" sort of trips and the train even cost less!

Mail me through my profile if you want more details.

MTBR.

Edit; Not sure about the rioting in France?

or slightly further afield, I've did two weeks riding round Cyprus last month (on a Harley replica of all things)

OK you have to fly there but you can hire a bike for 100ukp for the week.

Think Isle of Man but bigger and with better mountains and beaches and nicer weather...(and with a helemt law they don't bother enforcing
