windscreen de mist

Hi all,
new to this site having had my Cerbera only a month,
well pleased and getting used to all its Details?, if you know what i mean,

one i would like to sort is the screen de mist,
as when its raining, and lets be fair its done enought of that lately,

the screen mists up staright away, and the de mist does not really do a thing, so you end up driving with both windows down to clear the screen,
not a good idea in a monsoon,
has anyone got the same issues,
do i just have to lump it?

Hello there,

i'm afraid you might just have to lump it - its the same with mine. Either the windows partly open, or I avoid taking it out in the rain. A good indie might be able to make your demister a bit better - worth asking around

i think this is only really a problem when there is moisture in the car. Do you have wet carpet ie a leak somewhere?

I've got another leak at the mo & wet rear carpets, but even with that, the windscreen still demists ok (can take up to 10 mins on a bad day).

Have you got the other seven vents closed ?

If so, have a feel about & see if you can feel air billowing out (a dislodged hose, I recently had burnt knee syndrome, as the hose to the steering coloumn vent came away

I've just found out after two years, that the steering column vent demists the drivers side window, but you need to attach a laser sight to it to get it spot on, oh... and also drive without using your right arm.

The passenger top vent does a good job on the passenger window though.

my carpets are a little damp,
i think its down to door seals?

i have just fixed the variable fan controler,
as this was not working , will see what this does?

yeah mines (to be) leaked through the door seals too! bone dry arond the master cly! how much is an uprated set of seals anyone?

Some Cerbera owners block the vents at the front near the windscreen in the summer. This is because for some strange reason the Cerbera shoves warm air against the windcreen at all times, not just when you have the warm air button on. As you can imagine, this tends to get very warm in the cockpit in the summer months , hence the reason why they get blocked up. However, if you don't take them out in the winter you won't be able to demist your windscreen. This might not be the reason, but its worth checking just in case. If it isn't the reason, at least now you know how to stop yourself roasting in the summer!

Right class, pay attention!

To stop your windows (front/rear/side) or rear light lens covers (not the Ford ones but the outer cover) misting up follow this simple and effective procedure.

1. Thoroughly clean the affected area and dry properly.

2. Take clean cloth (J-Cloth type is ideal)and put a small amount of neat washing up liquid on it (size of a 5p piece is plenty)

3. Wipe this all over the area, making sure you actually 'polish' it in.

4. This is not permanent, but should last a good few weeks.

5. Keep from wiping the area with your hands afterwards - it will mist up where you have been! Use a cloth/duster.

It worked well for me.

Ah, the good old motorbike visor method and yes it does work. I used the rainex interior anti-fog stuff recently and it was rubbish.
