Whenever I open the door on my Chim the door locking solenoid buzzes for about a second, I've checked all the connections (including the switch in the sill) and they seem to be fine, anyone had this before ?

This also happens if you push the sill switch and when you unlock the car with the remote, it seems like it's just a dodgy solenoid; not working out when it's retracted fully, but I'm not sure

Cheers, the annoying thing is that it works fine (locks and unlocks just like it's meant to) didn't expect one to wear out in a couple of years

Whenever I lock my Chimaera door it bleeps twice. But if i push the bonnet down it is sometimes o.k. I wonder if this has something to do with the alarm going off ocassionally??????? Chimaera S3TAY

if you get to it spray some WD 40 or similar on piston, the buzzing sounds like the solenoid is not operating to its full extent immediately and the buzzing will go once it reaches full travel. If the lube doesn't help prepare to cough up as it wont get better

I thought that, but it's in the "unlock" position but when I open the door, it seems to try to unlock again, oddly if the passengers door is open it doesn't do it

The "solenoid" is infact a motor that shoots the arm in and out. It also has a switch that tells the controller whether its in the up or down position. I say controller, it a posh relay in a grey box just inside the glovebox on a Griff. Should have 6 wires going to it. Of course yours may be quite different!
