78 in a 60, nice dry day plently of visibility and on a two mile straight with not another car in sight!! Patrol car hidden out of sight....
Surely there are better things for the boys in blue to be doing. The also warned me for the spacing on my plate which was a little petty IMHO.
Not a good day

Have plans for track days next year, but want to get some instruction first - I know the car is infinitely more capable than my driving skills at present.
That's the real p*sser I was not pushing it or driving like a tosser I was trundling along in 5th.
Being in the frozen north my nearest track day venue is Knockhill I'll be getting myself booked in down there in the Spring.

Exactly I was pootling along! I wouldn't have minded if they caught me booting it properly
As for the Road Angel I only have the GPS extension not the laser one. I figured they are going to ban them anyway soon so I didn't bother getting it fitted. I doubt it would have done much more than told me I'd been clocked. No other cars about and it was a hand held gun.

Well as I have the 4.2 I was only looking after 360 horses today.
Thing is when you are driving something with race suspension & brakes without any traction control or ABS you are more aware of the road conditions than the copper sat in his AWD Volvo estate with heated seats! I did toy with the idea of enlightening him but decided to bite my tongue.
I thought he might follow me so I took off sharpish and sure enough he came after me. I used the road angel to keep it at a strictly legal 60 mph on a particulaly twisty bit and he either got the message or got bored and did a U turn.

A traffic policeman is trained to use his discretion when deeming somone to be speeding.
Surely if you had stood there and said..look i can understand you giving somone driving a fiesta 3 points, but when its a supercar with sports supension and racing brakes and im 10mph over the limit and the road is completely clear--........
im not saying you are not in the wrong.. but there is punishing somone who is breaking the rules and there is just plain making an upstanding member of the public have a poor view of the police force.

I know that is the letter of the law but it is a bit rich DVLA taking your money for something and then stopping you using it properly.
I can understand if I had silly dots over it or a daft font but the in car system picked it up and did the check for MOT and tax etc without a problem. I still think it is petty.

It's a pet hate with most traffic cops and they get a kick out of making your purchase worthless. It's also true that if you are going to get a verbal warning, its generally for one offence. Get it changed because he will take great delight in stopping you again if he sees you. It wouldn't suprise me if he has passed the word around to colleagues to look out for you. Sorry to be doom and gloom but I've some experience in this dept.
