iPod Video's - a question

I've just read a user report on amazon.co.uk that Apple have removed the jacking point used for accessories like iTrip from the new video-capable iPod's. Is this true, as I'm looking at getting one mainly for use in the car. Or am I going to have to fork out another small fortune for a head unit with an iPod adaptor?

I have a gen 4 with top port, just been playing with a mate's new gen 5 video(very nice!!) - top port gone for sure. This may shed some light:
