What a palava!

Process for replacing a driving light bulb.
1)Have a rummage and then remember that you lent your trolley jack to your "reliable" friend who hasnt returned the damn thing.
2) Go to friend and retrieve jack, unsuccessfully avoiding conversation so what should take 30 mins takes 90.
3)Find handbook to locate the jacking points. Cant find handbook.
4) tap about under the car until a solid sounding place is found and jack on this point.
5) loosen wheel nuts
6) jack
7) remove wheel - it has never been removed before so is a little stubborn. Comes off in the end.
8)Use brush to remove dirt so you can find the fixing points for the light assembly.
9)unscrew retaining screws and remove panel. Realise that I only need to remove 3 screws not 4
10)Find the torch is flat so have to resort to using the £600 diving torch that should not be used out of water. Try to keep paranoia under control that the bulb will go costing £120.
11) undo the 3 nylock nuts and put safely. Try to remove light cluster.
12) Light cluster will not moove. Undo the allen bolts (x3)
13) Light cluster cover comes off.
14) try to figure out why light assembly wont come out, realise there is a small bolt on the inside of the cluster, get ratchet spanner to undo. Wont undo..... Get pliers to hold the underside and undo small bolt.
15) Undo all connectors (all 5 of them!!)
16) Find replacement bulb that ha been on shelf since last winter when I decided the lights are rubbish.
17)Realise that the replacement bulbs are for the main beam, not headlights.
18) swear curse and see if the neighbours cat is available to hose down with really cold water. Cat unavailable and neighbour upset that I should ask. Resort to sulking.
19) the wife has the car so I have to bl00dy walk to Halfrauds.
20) Cant decide between super brilliance (55watt) and off road (100watt) so get both and resolve to figure it out on the walk home.
21) think
it and decide on the 100watt jobbies.
22) Get home and realise I also wanted some side light bulbs - bolx
23)Replace bulbs and clean assembly then clean covers.
24) put the whole lot back together and repeat for the drivers side.
25) turn on lights and realise that spending £70 quid on bulbs has made NO DIFFERENCE WHAT SO EVER.
26) Look for cat again.
27) job took so long, there is no time to clean the car.

I have a different approach -
1) Break into neighbours garage.
2) Steal all parts and equipment necessary to complete job
3) Stand conspicuously next to car awaiting neighbours arrival
4) Engage in conversation about job to be done
5) Stand back and let him "show me how to do it"
6) Offer him a beer while he finishes the job
7) Avoid any mention of TVR engines that blow up
