Recently bought the hood, no complaints about its performance. However, despite me rinsing off dirt and dust where the hood is touching the paint work before putting it on, marks are starting to show where the hood is rubbing on the paint. Does anybody have the same problem? Can I get rid of the marks through polishing?
I had the same prob when I had a Leven hood for my Chim, it dulled and scratched the paintwork on the doors, just below the door windows, despite cleaning everything before putting the hood on! The wind makes the edges of the cover chaff the bodywork, unavoidable unless you tape some soft material to the edges of the hood.
Since we introduced the Hood Covers many years ago we have sold hundreds to happy owners. With any cover there is always the risk of damage where it touches. Our advise has been to ensure the contact area is always clean. This means that if a Hood Cover is left on for a number of days in a dirty environment eg road side, the area may need regular cleaning to remove airbourne dirt. Ensure that the contact area has a very good coat of top quality polish. Polish out any marks regularly which reapplys the polish. If this advice is followed then there should be no problem.

I use the Leven hood cover on a daily basis - rain or shine, winter or summer (I like the fact people can't see into the car).
Initially I did get marks on the door tops, but then I looked at the issue carefully. If you put the cover on carefully and properly, the cover sits just above the door tops. Tuck the flap under the bonnet and catch an extra bit of the hood on the corners of the bonnet, then pull it tight over the car and shut the other flap into the boot. This stops the sides touching the doors. Then do the mirror clips and the job's a good 'un.
