There have been a couple of HSV's on ebay recently, some did not meet the reserve,
the 2 below were sold, are these the going rates for them ? or did someone get a bargain ?

Hi Malc,I reckon these prices are about right. As for being a bargain, well it's a lot car for the money!
I always hoped that the HSV UK cars, would become future classics & as such the bottom price would firm up at say at least £12k for good condition cars, along the lines of Lotus Carltons which have held their prices well over the past 5 years or so.
I suppose that the Monaro's have had a negative effect, as unless you really wanted the 4 doors, it would be more sensible to buy a much newer but very similar car especially as they can be had for £20k.
I also think that as our cars are so rare, with only approx. 60 cars over the different models imported by HSV UK, most people are still clueless about them. The Lotus whilst still v. rare had more publicity.
In comparison to other cars that cost £40k new & of similar age, I guess these prices on e.bay are really pretty good. A well specced X reg 540i with 30k miles can be had for £13k.for example.
Obviously, they will always be brought by enthusiasts & it will be interesting to see what prices they wil fetch in the future.
I'd like to hear what other owners thoughts are.
