British man with HIV has apparently become clear!

I heard this piece of very irresponsible reporting on the radio.

Be assured, there is NO MAGIC CURE for the HIV virus and it can still be passed on just as easily as ever.

HIV is not the killer, it is what the virus does to our immune system that will eventually make something as simple as a common cold a killer.

Pharmaceutical companies are making excellent progress in new drugs to block the virus.

Imune cell receptors in our bodies play a key role in understanding how HIV infects cells. These discoveries may not have immediate impact on people with HIV, they may lead to important advances in HIV treatment, prevention and research in the future but there is still no cure.

It was reported on the radio this morning and not the proper responsible report that the BBC gave, this radio report just said an HIV infected man had become HIV clear.

Sadly, there is no longer the media coverage of how serious this is now (not since the 80's really).
