I have just bought a second hand fire extinguisher for my car. It is an original E30 specific item so I have to assume its at least as old as the last off the production line which I believe was 1992. If this is the case then I would like to get it checked and recharged so I can use it in a emergency rather than just being a rare part that looks cool and have to buy another to stick in the boot.

Anyone know where I can get it recharged in the SE London/Kent area

Cheers

maybe phone up a fire station and ask them? (not 999).

How about looking up fire extinguisher shops in the yellow pages? Or call one and see if they can help you?

Walk into your local shop, and ask the manager who services his fire equipment!

Yes I know but one the benefits of the forum is having someone recomend somewhere rather than sticking a pin in a phone directory.

You usually end up with replys like "use this firm they are really good" or "stay away from XYZ" as they are rubbish

I found I could get a brand new AFFF or dry powder extinguisher for far less than the cost of testing and refilling and old unit.
