I've bought myself a USB headset (headphones with mic), which is great until I want to switch to my normal speakers. At the moment I have to go to the control panel and change the audio device from there, is there a utility available to download that I can use to switch between the two easily? Preferably one that just sits in the taskbar.

I generally use the manual option - pull the headphones out ...

Does Windows not have a scripting programme, similar to Applescript (or like a Macro in Word)?
If it was on Mac, I would suggest doing this:
- Open the Script Editor (now automator), and start Record
- Open Control Panel
- Change from headphones to speakers.
- Close Control Panel
- Save Script as Application
- Try it.
- Create a twin that changes from speakers to headphones.
- Move both to where you want them for quick access.
I'm sure Windows must have an equal programme.

Thanks, that works a charm!
Had to download a program to make scripts, Windows help was bitterly ironic.
Have assigned them to two spare buttons on the keyboard (Search and Shopping) so I can now switch between the two to my heart's content.
