Camera Phone Comp...!

Looking at the sunset thread and thinking about todays technology...

We have all been there, photo opportunity and no camera, apart from the Mobile Phone. When travelling recently the only pictures I've been able to take have been with my phone - 1.3 meg pix Sony Eric S700i.

Can a phone replace a compact? I've been experimenting and the answer is no, although as you have found you can get some good results, I liike some of yours.

as you can see from this one, in low light noise is a major issue.
