1996 993 Carrera 4. When moving off and turning the steering wheel from straight ahead to a tight lock to exit a cramped parking space for example, there is a groaning noise/vibration which I feel up through the steering.
Not all the time but becoming more frequent of late I suspect. The PAS works perfectly.
Any ideas as to the cause of the noise etc. ?

dont know anything about porsches in particular but it sounds like low power steering/hydraulic fluid level.

Agree with diagnosis above.

Check the level of Pentosin in the main hydraulic reservoir. When standing at the back of the car with the engine in front of you, it's the reservoir on your right by the dipstick. Be careful, because if the level continues to drop, you could shag the hydraulic pump. You'll probably need a porker garage to get some more Pentosin - unlikely that the local motor factor will stock it.

Nel, Cancel my last, the vehicles handbook states that the level PAS reservoir should be checked with the engine running at normal idling speed.
