Leaking roof? Answer - 'Argus' £4.99

Anyone with a leaky roof on an S stored outside, and not enough time. Go to argos and pick up a roof cover £4.99 job done my S is dry and after a quick clean it doesnt smell like a wet labrador in the morning!

If you dont have a leaky roof, then luck you!!

I have full cover from Halfords its called "tryek" It supposed to be breathable cover, cost me £60. When I remove the cover the car is soaking, this cant be right.

I think I may invest in a £4.99 job, Cheers.

the only ones i can see on the website are £14.99 roof covers and £19.99 full length car covers

Shnozz, do a search on argos for "car covers", there's the 2 heavy duty one's you found and 2 cheaper versions at 9.99 and 4.99 respectively. The 4.99 one was on a second page in my search. Also some waterproof seat covers show up too, worth a thought. The 19.99 one looks a good bet though. A tad cheaper than building a garage!

Umm, I've looked at cheaper car covers because I have the same problem of keeping my car on the drive and wanting it protected. The cheap ones Ive seen are all bits of nylon like a cheapo anorak. They seem rough to the touch too. Don't they scratch your paint to bits?

This is the info on the 19.99 one at argos. It may be kinder on the car.

Protective car cover.
PVC and non-woven fabric combined.
Super water/stain/dust resistance.
Soft handle feel.
Size 5.5 x 3.6m

I think the biggest problem is the wind flapping the cover and scuffing the paintwork.

You'd have to suck it and see, but for 20 quid it might be worth a try.

thanks for that - I will have a look as i had a PVC style roof cover that ripped in high winds - been meaning to get a new one to stop that leaky footwell and generally keep ice off the screen etc.

I avoided full length covers cos worried about wind moving it and scratching paintwork. When HarryW lent me his full length for when I was on holiday I laid soft sheets over the car first but cant be arsed to do this every night so will probably stick with just a roof cover.

I've got a Classic Additions cover for the Chim.. cost £70 ish.. fully waterproof with elasticated front and rear.. does the job lovely..

One last thing on this, though it's probably stating the obvious. With the full covers remember to let the exhausts cool down before fitting.

glad you made that "obvious" point Andy cos although thinking about it now its obvious, I can own up and say that I may not have thought about that!!!! god help me sometimes!

Its another point that leads me to think I am just going to get a hood cover cos I cant always sit around and wait for the exhausts to cool before putting the cover on.

I have the 'breathable' one from Halfords, about £60, full length and comes with its own carry bag! Forgot the name of it now (Tyvek?), but i know a certain TVR aftermarket supplier is selling them for a lot more money (£90)..same make, same spec
Its comforting knowing the whole car is covered, when its sitting out on the drive in this shite weather !
