996 Values Dropping

My specialist tells me that the value of 996s has dropped significantly over the last 12 months. I thought £12K over that period was pretty severe - dont you?

I'm afraid its a fact of life. Buy a car take a hit. Its not an investment. Don't treat it like one and you won't be disappointed.

Everyone said 993s had reached a plateau at 30k 2 years ago. My colleague just sold his on having lost 12k in that period.

Cars go down in value. Best bet is to not sell then you never realise the loss

People always think there will be a plateau because they dont want to admit that they will lose on depreciation, also a bigger cost on 993 is probably ongoing maintenance.

Cars always fall in value, minimum 5k a year for most.

Your "specialist" was probably lining you up for a trade-in

October 2004 copy of dealer adverts shows 996s at about 35-36k. October 2005 shows them around £30k, maybe slightly lower for high mileages.
