Is the S2's roof a lot easier to remove than the S1's ? how long does it take etc. ??

Had a S1 S160 couple of years ago and the whole roof removal thing hacked me off a bit after a while.

Cheers.

I assume we are talking soft top, rather than hard top.
If correct, I can not say how much easier it is compared to the S1, however it takes less than 45secs, to put it on, or take it off. Measured by whether I complete the task before the auto imobiliser cuts in.

It is MUCH easier than the S1 - 20 seconds to take off (I have done this from inside the car many times). Just two levers on each side and roll it up, removing the fibreglass supports as you go. (have done it in not much over 10 seconds when in a hurry) Slightly longer to put on, but as beachbum says, less than the time taken for the immobiliser to kick in (45seconds). S1 roof was not the most practical invention. I am not knocking the s1, it was just the ease of (lack thereof) removing the soft top and the high side sill that made me opt for the S2 as a daily driver.

What Shangani said. It really is a doddle compared to the S1's roof.

Edit: talking about the S2 short roof version but the long tail one's probably not that bad either.

Long tail roof:

Get out pf car, undo two catches by rear window (you can do both from either side by reaching across).

Fold tails onto the rest of the roof.

Undo clips on one side and roll into the middle.

Undo clips on the other side and roll into the middle.

Lift off car and shove in boot. 30 seconds.

Short tail roof:

Stay sat on arse and unclip one side and roll to middle.

Unclip and roll other side.

15 seconds. More if you want to put it in the boot.

They really are simplicity itself.
