Hey folks, I'm well aware of all the specialist insurance firms for Yanks, as I have had extremely good quotes over the last few years for my Camaro and other Yanks I've owned in the past.
However, I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the best firm is for a new Corvette?
Anyone with some experience of insuring Corvettes got a suggestion?

''best firm is for a new Corvette''

For insurance for a car worth over 30k and not wanting a tracker, and proof of a thatcham alarm etc, I found only Adrain Flux that would take on my car, not that cheep I think it was about £1000 though and that with 500 excess

Mine is insured via Stevenage Insurance Services Ltd. £399 fully comp, unlimited miles with no requirement for a Tracker or Thatcham alarm. I quoted the value of the car as £35,000 when I bought it last year. Not sure what the excess is and hope never to find out.

I'm with Flux at the moment as I hadn't heard of Stevenage at time of renewal. £750 for a 3 year old C5, unlimited mileage, 40 year-old driver (at the time)

My Stevenage price this year was 3 hundred and something unlimited mileage. Guess I must be older than you guys then!

Believe it or not, nobody came even close to NU direct for my Z06. £405 with a £30 cashback. 4000 miles a year.

Yup rip off merchants in my view. They were 2-300 pounds more than anyone else that quoted to me

NU direct - interesting idea

Flux can be good sometimes, on Kit Cars for instance, but it does tend to be first year only discounts as in the second year they inflate their prices which seems a weird business plan for keeping your customers.

As this thread has been brought back to life, I will repeat what I said on the CCCUK site recently which was:

2004 Convertible. Unlimited Mileage. Fully Comp. Old codger driving with no motoring convictions (but I'm working on it) and no prangs. £399 with Stevenage Insurance. Main benefit is that they do not require a Thatcham alarm to be fitted.

My Z06 was insured with NU Direct on a mirrored NCB with 4000 miles a year for less than £400.

Just realised this was an old thread and I've posted twice. Must learn to read threads first.

I called dozens of specialist brokers, and was being shown prices of 2000+ most of the time for the new Z06, 10,000 mile policy.

Eventually settled for the best quote of £1775 from MCE.
They also insured my Camaro for £215.
Since the Z06 is worth over 10 times what the Camaro is, and the premium is less than 10 times the Camaro, I figured that this was pretty reasonable.

Crikey, I'm going to be in for a shock then, given I'll have to tell them I'm parking it on the road in London!

Erm... whereabout's in London... not that I'd nick it or anything :-)

If you're getting a car valued at over 25k then you'll probably run into the problem that unless it's garaged very few insurers (like Flux etc) will touch it... Not wanting to be the bringer of bad news, but you may be in for a lot of shopping around...
