LMES Top driver rates the Griffith

Here's one to cheer you up....

At a marshal's trackday held yesterday at Oulton Park I asked Tommy Erdos to show me around the track I have driven for over 20 years.
He climbed aboard my Griffith 500 and asked "Are there any driver aids"
No I replied -Good he said started the car and away we went.
After a couple of laps he started to 'play'-giving her a bootfull coming out of Shell and Knickerbrook, getting the back end to break away. He drove the car with such confidence and ability.
I thought I was quick but he took the Griffith to the limit, taking Island bend a full 30MPH faster than I had dared and braking far later into bends than I could imagine.

Tommy's verdict on the Griffith:

" Great car, well balanced, enough power and great looking too"

Was your car running standard tyres and suspension when he tried it?

Hi Paul,

The car is in standard trim.

Tommy did suggest buying tunable dampers for the track but as it spends so much if its time on the road I did not think it was worth it.

I can still see him nodding his head with aproval.

BTW the picture in my profile is a painting !!

Excellent! One or two of the instructors I've used over the past few years have said much the same - makes you feel all warm inside!

I've definitely found the car more and more fun to drive (and less scary) the more I learn.

Was he keeping it flat through there? Also, did he keep flat going over the crest before cascades?

In the Griffith no he lifted as the car started to slide around Island but seemed flat going into cascades.
In the Osprey LM2 car wearing slicks - flat.....Wow
