Just wanted to share an enjoyable drive I had this weekend, going down the new A43 that bypasses Silverstone towards the M40, when a 'lad' cuts me up badly (Pug 206) as he pulls into the outside lane.... would of hit the bonnet if i hadn't hit the anchors. Then when i beeped at him (as he was coming over) he stuck his hand up at me & gestured !!

Idiot obviously hadnt looked at anything except the mirror & as i was overtaking I was in his blind spot.

Anyway, after he pulls in from overtaking, I floor it & pull cleanly past him. 2 minutes later he's hammering down the outside lane at 110 trying to make a point that he's a fast driver !! and get past me

Both lanes clear ahead, drop to 4th, wait for him to draw level & floored it...oh these cars are such fun.. left him wallowing alone in the outside lane, crying into his baseball cap.

Of course at no time did i drive dangerously or exceed any speed limits.

I also do not agree with getting drawn into these confrontations but sometimes they need teachnig a lesson !!

You're lucky.....I normally get trounced in the S2 by even the most mundane of motors ....had an Alfa 145 keep up with relative ease in a straight line t'other day

Time to get that Griff......please someone buy my S2

I would suggest you take the hand brake off next time .

Seriously how about getting the car on a rolling road as that can't be right.

I wouldn't have thought it would have made much odds given its current efficiency!

You'll make your bloody mind up! It was "bugger off it's not for sale" the other day??

Friend of mine complained about his MGB getting beaten a lot, no performance, etc. Turned out to be an old car mat screwed up behind the pedals, it's amazing what that last inch of pedal gives!

Won't be selling my s for a while yet, not after it embarrassed a chimp 450 on a dual carriageway the other day All the fun and less than half the price..... the s looks better too.

That sounds rather unlikely to me..

Or did your S merely tell everyone that the Chim was still wetting its bed at age 15?

"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"

So if Pete W gets beat by a Alfa 145, then Chin up would have to have beaten a chim to maintain the laws of physics.

I reckon i'm still getting somewhere near the original performance from my S, the torque is great.

My guestimate would be 0-60 in 7 and 0-100 in 18

Not much from the mundane tin top range can stay with me. That said I generally leave the racing type behaviour to my Type-R as it likes a good thrashing.

Oh, i gave a Vectra 2.5 V6 a kicking the other week on the same duel carriageway in my Tiv S. He was gutted he couldnt get away & i had stuff to spare

I had a blast against a mates Vectra 2.5 V6, and although I gave him a pasting up to about 120 mph, he started to reel me in and eventually passed me and went on to hit 149 mph versus my 140 mph. (And I ain't a slow driver!)
All done in Germany of course.

If the 'Green Man' is the pub in the dip, then yes, the Truvelo is still there.

My kicking of the Vectra 2.5V6 was on the Brackley section where its roundabout followed by Duel Carriageway, then roundabout & so on, so I was able to annoy him several times.

Th Green Man Camera's...I confirm yes there is one on each side now, forward facing Truvello's with yellow paintwork !

So if Pete W gets beat by a Alfa 145

I will just point out that I initially overtook the Alfa, which obviously annoyed the driver since he then floored it to prove a point. I got caught in traffic on a slip road approach, the Alfa driver was staying with me as I booted it onto the M-way....he couldn't out accelerate me, but then I couldn't out accelerate him

-thankfully I think his passenger intervened before any serious speeds were involved

So not exacatly beaten, but too close a call in my book...now where are those Griff classifieds

That road with the Green Man is a nightmare. Just got 3 points for doing 49 in a 40 (when it was a temporary limit for the dual-carriageway works), funnily enough trying to keep sight of a yellow Tamora !

Whilst I like the bed wetting banter, I ought to own up to a couple of things...... Like the fact that whilst I didn't pass old chimp-boy, (we were in line astern) I stayed with him from rest up to ahem mph....but also, he was a '02' reg and he could still have been running it in, or he could have been down on power or something....I was still pretty chuffed
