iPodding your (newish) Porker
Discussion
In my S2K I have a device from www.connects2.com which nicely connects the OEM stereo to my iPod (which remains in the car like a permenant HUUUUUUGE CD changer).
Connects2 don't make such a device for Porsches. (An enquiry resulted in a kurt reply of 'never')
And the weird thing... I cannot find any company, anywhere globally, that makes a device to connect an OEM Porsche stereo to an iPod.
Lots of companies making things to connect lots of types of car, but NOONE does anything Porsche.
On the basis that the iTrip (and similar) is rubbish most of the time (London in particular), has anyone found a company that offers this?
Could Porsche have scared off the maufacturers? How could they if they're independant? Is very backward whatever it is.

This: www.dension.com/icelink_info.htm will fit a CDR22. Unless you're after something newer.
Incidentally, i've found Connects2 products very poor whenever i've used them.

Haven't asked them actually, so just have done (& waiting for answer).
Connects2 - it plugged straight in and always worked. They had a database that showed the OEM was made by Pioneer and made up & sold me the connector. Very smooth. Simply can't understand why they are steering so far from Porsche.

The itrip is rubbish, but i have been using a monster fm transmitter. it plugs into the cig lighter and is a very powerful transmitter. i followed my friends car in traffic and was able to pick up a clear signal from his. it also acts as a charger for the ipod and has preset channels, so in the event of interference, which is rare, changing channel is just a push of a button.
i use it all oer europe and in cites, it is brilliant

where did you get it? the denison thing is 100 quid, is yours cheaper cos at present im balking at spending a hundred sheets on a foot of cable..
i bought it on line from the states. It was about 60 USD
can't remmember the site now as it was a while back, but google search monster FM transmitter, loads of places sell them. there are two generations. one has 6 presets the new one has 3 but you can change the presets to your own preference.
