Ok People. I have decided not to sell her!! I spoke to the insurance company after my speeding situation and they said the insurance will go up about 15% next time.
So this means I am going to be doing some bits and bobs. Can anyone recomend people who like to play with TVR's??
It needs a tune up and general under the bonnet things like sensors, oil presure check, exhaust gaskets. I also want silver dials, and for it to make an even better noise.....

Some companies won't increase insurance for points. Worth shopping around.

When they do the exhaust mod (de-baffled and sleeved) instead of using straight pipes like most garages they instead use a couple of cherry bombs. You may remember them as being a popular mod for minis.
This makes it sound a lot deeper and louder.
Where abouts do you live? I'm in St Neots (about 5 mins from Offords) so if your passing through on a weekend your welcome to stop by and have a listen.

Glad to hear you are keeping the car, its a beaut!!!

Perry @ The V8 Centre (H.Wycombe) for the exhaust, and have a word with them about any other bits you want to do, they are very competitive on price and you will not be disappointed with the workmanship! (Take it from me your £££'s go that bit further with them)
I can recommend the silicone hoses, magnecour leads as a starting point, depends on what your priorities are and what you have to spend! Polish the rocker covers and the plenum, induction kit and replacement air filter etc etc.
From talking to you the other day it seems 'more noise' is high on the list!!! The nice thing about the 'de-sleeving' option is that it is a fairly simple but effective job. If you then find you want to go further (more noise) there are a numer of options you could take.

I would just like to point out that in my opinion A Manning are the cheapest insurance company around for TVR's. I phoned close to ten insurers and all quoted stupid prices. A Manning came out over £1,000 cheaper than the best quote I Had.
As soon as the BMW is sold I will be over to High Wycombe although I would like there address????

You tried MSM? (01279 870535) They've just come out cheapest for me by a long, long way.

A Manning were actually one of the dearest for me and couldn't provide the same cover as the others either.
Unlimited mileage and trackday cover (for non TVRCC events). They also wouldn't insure my girlfriend due to doing less than 5000 miles of driving in the Griff.

I second that - excellent service sorted out a real weird problem for me for next to nothing and servicing is cheap too. Just be sure to ring them first as its not so easy to find...

Edited to add: Be sure to spend some time with Perry, get him to show you areound the cars they are working on you can see most of the upgrade options in progress...

I was at Offord a month ago, the cherry bomb mod is around £150 + vat, a bargain!

I paid £140 plus VAT, dropped off first thing on a Saturday morning and picked up again that lunchtime.
