Fuel pump does not prime

The fuel pump is not priming, however the immobiliser appears to go off and the engine tries to start, but no fuel seems to get there.

The footwell was quite wet recently which caused the ignition lights to stay on even without the key in. However I have dried it out with a heater and a hair drier which has fixed this problem.

Any ideas?

It could be the fuel cut off. Its in the compartment above the glove pocket thing. Your MIL light will also be on if its tripped.

Check the fuel pump and main power relays, these are two metal-cased relays on flying leads close to the ECU.

If you've had enough water in there to cause warning lights to come on, you could be looking at severe corrosion problems a few weeks later, so be prepared to find lots of electrical problems.

The fuel cut off above the passenger footwell had tripped.
