Some of the discussions on here regarding relationship problems, including the collateral stories of infidelity and broken trust, make for totally depressing reading.

Look, men and women are so utterly shitty to each other and I have to wonder why. Sure we've a history of patriarchy, misoginy and chauvenism. There's also a present climate of 'post-feminist-girlpower-women-on-top' antipathy towards men promoted by some women and a large section of the establishment, by which I mean govenment, judiciary & media.

The predominant result of the present climate seems to be that some women are so drunk on their own power that they put their need to be 'on top' above everything else, even if that means destroying a perfectly good relationship and jeopardising the future of their children and misusing the legal system as a tool of their vindictive side.

Is it really possible to trust one's partner or spouse, being that for all you know, without any warning, she can up & leave after 5, 10, 15 years, set up house with someone else and take all your money?

What's more, she can say "I'll never leave you" and she can mean it, but she's prone to changing her mind without warning, not least under the influence of hormones and stuff, when she could make very destructive decisions under said influence and hence on imagined premises, end up leaving a broken marriage & home behind..

Has the emancipation of women really lead to their true and extremely duplicitous nature being revealed?

Are all the ones who aren't like that just old fashioned and part of a dying breed?

Is this just another impact of the breakdown of the institution of marriage overall or is marriage merely a tool for the opression of women? Is that why when she leaves you, the judge will give her everything you own and everything you earn? Do women need the patriarchy to protect them from theirselves? Certainly, men seem to need it for their protection.

Ask any bisexual man and he'll tell you that men give better head

Woh woh woh woh - hang on there matey.

Not all of us girlies are bad you know. And there are a few blokes out there who are complete B@5tards as well.

Mr Big had a Ford Escort and lived at home with mummy when I first knew him. Together we have worked hard and we have now got a nice house and a TVR in the garage and are enjoying our life.

Ok he might decide one day that he no longer wants an 'older' woman but the thought of that keeps me keen and attentive .

Maybe that is where some of you blokes have got it wrong - perhaps you should find older women.

Track record of fidelity is pretty pants for both men and women. Always has been too, just a bit less used to be said in public.

Interesting fact ... about 10% of the UK population are illegitimate. This number is an estimate from a friend who is a doctor by looking at gentic clues ... blood types, eye colour and test for hereditary diseases.

Look at the way chimps and gorillas behave and you can see some clues as to what is going on deep down in our heads. Porking away from home is a survival advantage for a species that tends to organise itself around alpha males. It mixes up the genes a bit, but doesn't destabilise the structure of the society so long as no one notices. It requires people to always be up for a cheeky shag when the females are fertile.

Don't make it right, but it is "natural".

On the animal theme, itis also true that many creatures mate for life, and pine when one mamber of the couple dies. I accidentally ran over a lapwing 2 years ago, after swerving 3 times to avoid it and it hopping back in front of me, and it's mate was still standing on the road next to his dead body, 3 days later, only moving to avoid cars that further ground the dead bird into the tarmac.

What happens when we finish our reproductive years, and our DNA tells us to stop bothering younger species members? Do we then settle down and keep a mate, knowing there is an advantage to mutual caring/sharing of life's problems and threats?

Or, are we all just not grown-up enough to stop looking, and realise that what we may have could just be the best we can get?

I don't think you should refer to Chimeara's, Griffiths and Porsches in this demeaning manner.

Does a mere 5 year age gap qualify you as a toy boy then Smifffy?

Mrs Zee is 18 months older than me... I don't think I qualify..

I'm a toyboy. Mrs Imelda's 25 days older than me. Which gives me 25 days per year to mercilessly rip the piss out of her about being old. She does enjoy my jocular banter....
