Hi

I'm looking at getting a cherished plate. I've found one that's a classic plate (1 letter, 2 numbers, 3 letters). However, the last letter is spaced a bit more to make the first part into a word.

I understand that this isn't strictly legal, however I see it EVERY day on so many cars.... can I get away with it?

On your own head be it - probably get 'blitzed' for saying this but who cares -I am in TOTAL disagreement with any form of misrepresntation /mi spacing/ altering reg. plates for vanity.
Ticket the lot of them who do it..

Personalisation of plates just makes you stand out, and are more likely to get pulled by BiB for minor offences.

For example:- everyday on journey to work you see a blue BMW with reg ABC123, then one day BMW with ABC123 causes accident and fails to stop, or is getaway car in a bank raid, it just makes it so easily identifiable if you want to get caught and traced.

I would rather stay anonymous with a bog standard plate that nobody will take notice of.
For the same reason I have no stickers in my back window, which I think makes some people think I am unmarked plod car especially with all the anti scamera gadgets on the dashboard.
