Mirror controller on the fritz...

...anyone know whether one on a 97 Chimp that is doing its own thing in the wet is likely to be worth attempting a repair? If that is unlikely, am I correct in assuming it will be a Vauxhall part?

Both mirrors are just rotating to max deflection in random directions when it rains...guess it's called 'character'

My previous Chimaera and current Tuscan both have this 'character flaw' as well. The factory has told me this is normal...

The controller box is located inside the door and gets wet when it rains. The water then gets it confused. Solution is to makea cover for it or do what the factory did and move the controller to under the steering column.
